Gyula Will Be Going To The Vet

GyulaGyula hasn’t been feeling well lately.  I’m not quite sure what the problem is but I think it stems from the bullying from Zoli.  He spends most of his time in the basement drop ceiling where he feels safe.  When I get him down, he runs straight outside for the day.  I feed him in the drop ceiling and outside.  He won’t come upstairs on his own but I have been trying to bring him into the office while I’m there.  He seems content most of the time like as long as I am around.  Yesterday he just ran into the basement and didn’t want anything to do with the office.

He eats a ton and isn’t gaining weight.  He’s also not drinking a lot of water.  I have been adding some to his food so he gets a little.  Gyula is usually a good drinker so it has me a little bit worried.

Right now, he is here with me in the office and seems fine.  Part of me thinks that he just wants me around which is why he’s always requesting food.  I may start making a habit of hanging out downstairs with him to see if that makes a difference.  He is always the one who comes in the bed with me and he hasn’t been doing that for quite some time.  Maybe is just psychologic but the not gaining weight thing seems odd though.  It makes me afraid that something may be wrong internally so I’m going to bring him to the vet on Monday to have him checked out.  Hopefully, it won’t be too serious.  Wish us luck!

  1. In my experience cats who eat a lot and don’t get fat, probably they have worms. There are different kinds of them and different needs for eliminating them. The vet will tell you what to do, I am sure.

    1. Hi Hiedi! Yes, Gyula did have worms and is doing so much better. I wonder where he got them from because it was all of a sudden. Thankfully that problem is over with and he is back to his old self. He hasn’t gone into the basement once and has been sleeping with me every night. He is still scared of Zoli but at least he’s not hiding anymore. Thank you so much for your insight. Cheers!
